Tens of thousands of software workers commute to Electronic City every day. This road, and the metro line beside it, are what keeps that commute to something under an hour.
History
Electronic City is Bengaluru's oldest technology park, and for years the only way in was Hosur Road, which jammed solid twice a day. This nine-kilometre elevated road was built directly above it, opened in 2010, so that traffic bound for the tech parks could fly over the local shops, junctions and bus stops below. It was among the first big elevated toll roads inside an Indian city.
