Why it matters
Traffic between Hyderabad and central India currently goes the long way round through Nagpur or Solapur. This corridor is the direct line, and it passes through farming districts that have never been well connected.
History
The Hyderabad–Indore corridor is a new north–south route being built up the middle of the Deccan, from Hyderabad through Sangareddy and the Marathwada districts towards Akola and on into Madhya Pradesh. The section mapped here is the stretch through the Telangana–Maharashtra border country around Sadasivpet and Degloor. It is being built in packages, with each stretch upgraded or laid new as land becomes available.
