Why it matters
A short national highway link running from Tanakpur in Uttarakhand to the Nepal border at Bhimdatta (Mahendranagar). It is one of the crossings between the Kumaon foothills and far-western Nepal, and it carries the cross-border trade and traffic of that corner of the frontier.
