Why it matters
This short road is the spine of Noida and Greater Noida. Lakhs of people use it every day to reach offices, universities and the metro, and it is the road that made Greater Noida — planned in the 1990s as an empty grid of sectors — actually work as a city. It is also the free, fast link that stitches the DND Flyway into Delhi at one end to the Yamuna Expressway toward Agra at the other.
History
The Noida–Greater Noida Expressway was one of the first modern expressways in the Delhi region, built by the Noida Authority to connect the brand-new town of Greater Noida with Noida and Delhi. It opened in 2002, at a time when most of the land beside it was still farmland and the new town at the far end was nearly empty. Having a fast, free, six-lane road changed that quickly: office towers, colleges, hospitals and huge housing societies filled in along both sides, and the sectors facing the expressway became some of the most expensive addresses in the National Capital Region. It runs along the east side of the Yamuna, and since 2019 the Noida Metro's Aqua Line has run beside it, giving the same corridor a rail option. At the Pari Chowk end it links into the Yamuna Expressway, which continues all the way to Agra, so it is now the first leg of the main road route from Delhi to the Taj Mahal and the new Jewar airport.

On the road
End to end takes about 25–30 minutes when the road is clear. Rush hour runs toward Noida and Delhi in the morning and back toward Greater Noida in the evening, and the Mahamaya Flyover end is where jams start. Thick winter fog in December and January makes this corridor dangerous — pile-ups are common, so slow right down. There are few stops on the road itself, but the sector exits have plenty of fuel pumps and food.
