Route
Hyderabad–Raipur Expressway runs 530 km from Kaghaznagar, Telangana to Durg, Chhattisgarh.
Crosses Telangana, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh.
Through Kaghaznagar, Sirpur, Gondpipri, Gadchiroli, Basantpur and Durg.
Why it matters
Central India's mineral belt and the industry around Hyderabad trade heavily with each other, but the roads between them still wind through hill and forest. A direct corridor would also give some of the country's remotest districts their first fast road.
History
The road between Hyderabad and Raipur runs through some of the least developed and most heavily forested country in central India, across the Godavari valley and the districts of eastern Maharashtra and southern Chhattisgarh. The existing route is slow and winding. This planned expressway takes a much more direct line, and it is intended as much to open up that interior as to shorten the drive between the two state capitals.

Not built. The drive today goes by way of Nagpur or the older highways through Jagdalpur, and takes most of a day.
