History
The Inner Ring Road curves through Chennai's inner suburbs from Madhavaram in the north, through Ekkattuthangal and Guindy, to the coast near Kottivakkam. It links the northern industrial areas to the southern IT corridor without going through the old city, and its middle section carries the traffic between the airport, Guindy's offices and the arterial roads south.
