History
Hyderabad's Inner Ring Road loops around the older parts of the city, through Mehdipatnam, Attapur, Bairamalguda and up towards Secunderabad. It was built long before the Outer Ring Road, to keep traffic out of the crowded lanes of the old city around Charminar, and it is still the ring most everyday city traffic uses — the Outer Ring Road is far out and mainly serves long-distance and airport trips.
